The Human behavior is a key factor in the sustainability of natural resources. Inappropriate timber exploitation has led to deforestation in many mountain areas in Albania. In order to address such issue in the frame of the joint research project “The role of natural resources in sustainable rural livelihoods in the Western Balkans. The distribution and flow of costs and benefits”, which was financed by the Research Council of Norway, PPNEA organized three environmental education activities in the villages of Novoseja and Shishtavec in Kukës. The aim of implementing this activity is to raise the awareness among children and the locals, through involving them actively in the planting of 100 silver birch (Betula pendula) trees. Enjoy!
